Spark Plug Socket

With the ratchet and the spark plug socket, turn the spark plug counter-clockwise and remove the spark plug carefully. Examine the spark plug to see if it is black or shows any signs of damage.

If you think it needs changing, then you should buy new spark plugs. Otherwise, if you are in doubt, try to consult your mechanic. Remember when removing your spark plugs that you should be very careful, as they might still be used and rough handling might ruin them.

Spark plug sockets and wrenches are used to help you remove and replace spark plugs properly so that they don’t break or get damaged. They are also used because some spark plugs are hard to get or set deep in the engine, so special spark plug sockets are made for deep-set spark plugs.

Other spark plug sockets have rubber inserts which are still effective, but more easily damaged. Most spark plug socket wrenches are finished or made out of chrome, which helps them last for a long time and keeps the spark plug in place.

You can consult an owner’s manual or mechanic about this and ask what type of spark plug socket is best for your car.
